Collector’s Corner: Rare Babe Ruth Signed Official American League Red & Blue Stitched 1909 Baseball
With the Yankees back in the postseason and trying to add to their enormous collection of World Series rings, it’s hard not to go back to the beginning and see where it all started. In 1921, Tris Speaker said, “Ruth made a grave mistake when he gave up pitching. Working once a week, he might have lasted a long time and become a great star.” There are many that don’t know that Babe Ruth started out as a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox and then went on to become one of the greatest hitters of all-time with the New York Yankees. Name another player who has won almost 100 games pitching and hit over 700 homeruns. There is no one else.
Also one of the most collected players in the history of the game, anything donning his signature brings top dollar at auction houses across the country. Even an item with a barely legible faded signature of Ruth’s brings in thousands of dollars at auction. Here we are featuring a rare Babe Ruth single signed Official American League Red & Blue stitched Baseball with a patent date of Aug-31-1909 with a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. A single signed baseball of Ruth’s is hard enough to find, much less in this incredible condition with authentication. Now let’s just see if Alex Rodriguez and the 2009 Yankees can add to the legacy. Check out the ball here.
