Twins Great Harmon Killebrew Dies at 74
Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew has passed away this morning at the age of 74 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Killebrew was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus last December. He had recently just announced last week he would no longer seek treatment for the incurable cancer. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1984, Killebrew finished his career with 573 HR’s while batting just .256 with a .376 OBP, .509 SLG. and a .884 OPS.
Ron Gardenhire Wins AL Manager of the Year Award; Ron Washington takes second
Ron Gardenhire won his first AL Manager of the Year Award Tuesday after taking second five times in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009.
