Cardinals Agree to Deal with Carlos Beltran
Carlos Beltran has agreed with the St. Louis Cardinals on a two-year deal worth $26 million. The deal is pending a physical and is said to include a full no-trade clause, according to MLBTraderumors.com. While not exactly a perfect answer for Pujols leaving, the signing of Beltran will keep the Cardinals a contender in the 2012 season.
Reds acquire Latos for Volquez, Alonso and others
The Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres have announced a five-player deal involving pitchers Mat Latos for Edinson Volquez and top 10 prospects Yonder Alonso, Brad Boxberger and Yasmani Grandal. Alonso has been rumored in trade talks the past few weeks with Reds GM Walt Jocketty reportedly talking with the Athletics, Blue Jays, Indians and Rays for a deal involving the young prospect for a pitcher to throw in the rotation.
Ryan Braun Tests Positive for PED’s
Milwaukee Brewers star and 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun has tested positive for performance enhancement drugs according to “Outside the Lines” investigative reporters with ESPN.com. Braun reportedly tested positive after being tested during the 2011 postseason and will face a 50-game suspension. Major League Baseball is said to have not announced the positive test because Braun is disputing the results with an appeal.

Houston Astros Will Move To AL West In 2013
As has been expected, the Astros’ sale is on the agenda for the owners’ meetings tomorrow, at which point Jim Crane is expected to be approved as the team’s new owner. The move will come at a price as the prospective owner Jim Crane has agreed to move the Astros from the NL to the AL in 2013 in exchange for a $70 million discount when his purchase of the team becomes official.
Rangers vs. Cardinals: 2011 World Series Game 2 Tonight
The Texas Rangers will have Colby Lewis take the mound tonight to try and tie the 2011 World Series up 1-1 against Jaime Garcia and the St. Louis Cardinals.
