Dallas Cowboys Cut CB Terence Newman
The Dallas Cowboys have cut veteran cornerback Terence Newman along with Kicker David Buehler. The move saves the Cowboys either $4 million or $6 million against the salary cap. Newman was drafted 5th overall in the 2003 draft and ends his Cowboy career with 32 interceptions and seven forced fumbles. The interceptions rank him 8th in Cowboys history.

Kevin Kolb Out in Philly; Vince Young Headed In?
The Philadelphia Eagles have traded Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round pick. By NFL standards, the Eagles got a killer deal in moving Kolb. Their thinking was that if they could move a backup and get that type of deal out of him, why not? They still have quarterback Mike Kafka, who was at 3rd string last year.
Wait a second. Not so fast. The Titans just released Vince Young; who before even getting through the waiver process is said to be headed to Philadelphia as the backup for quarterback Michael Vick. That shouldn’t be a problem for the former University of Texas star, considering a team would have to pick up his contract that was released by the Titans. That should happen Friday afternoon. Should be interesting how he handles the situation of being a backup.
Tiki Barber to Come Out of Retirement.
Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber has filed papers to come out of retirement and try to revive his NFL career, his agent Mark Lepselter confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.
Barber, who turns 36 in April, hasn’t played since the 2006 season with the Giants, where he spent his entire 10-year career. Most recently he had been a correspondent for “The Today Show” and “Sunday Night Football” on NBC before the network did not renew his
Don Meredith Dies at 72
Don Meredith passed away late last night at the age of 72. Meredith was quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys in the franchise’s early days and was also on the original “Monday Night Football” broadcast team. Meredith played for the Cowboys from 1960-1968 and was considered one of the first stars of many for the Cowboys. Meredith threw for 17,199 yards and 111 touchdowns in his career and retired unexpectedly in 1969 and go on to broadcasting just 2 years later. A private graveside service is being planned to be in Santa Fe.
